Last week, we held our first series of community meetings about upcoming development in the Downtown Gateway with the CRA and city of Clearwater’s Economic Development and Engineering departments. The Streetscape Phase 3 project is slated to begin later this summer, and will transform Cleveland St. between Missouri and Highland Aves. into a more pedestrian- and bike-friendly place. And we need your help!
Construction for Streetscape Phase 3 would take anywhere from 18-24 months, once begun. We’re actively working to get feedback from businesses and residents in the neighborhood on how we at the city and CRA can best support you during construction. We’re soliciting feedback from those stakeholders via an online survey (available in English here: http://bit.ly/cwgateway2020 and in Spanish here: http://bit.ly/cwgateway2020es).
In addition to Streetscape Phase 3, a new plaza will transform the intersection of S Hillcrest Ave. and Cleveland St. into a community space for events, arts and much more. Klar and Klar Architects provided three initial design options, available to view here. We’re asking for feedback from the community on the plaza’s general design and colors.
